Gareth was born in Minneapolis, MN and was the first Conway to move to California, where he attended the University of California, San Diego to study science and economics. Before embarking on the family winery project Gareth worked in various industries - from finance, marketing and computers to coffee roasting. He now splits his time between the winery in Arroyo Grande and San Diego with wife Michelle and their four children: Alexander, Christopher, Andrew and Gwen. Gareth's passion for food, wine and art began before college when he began collecting art and cook books. As an "amateur chef", Gareth particularly enjoys creating new pairings and blends of flavors. Look for him as a guest judge in the upcoming Season 2 of The Winemakers, which is under production now.
Favorite wine: Deep Sea Sauvignon Blanc for its California style. This wine and our Rosé make for great breakfast wines - the perfect way to begin a Sunday brunch.
