2013 Double Barrel Pinot Noir
Before bottling our new wines, we meticulously taste samples from each barrel to determine how the final blend will taste. Every so often, we will discover a barrel or two that display more complexity, flavor, and character than the others.
In 2013, we discovered two such barrels! Unanimously, we agreed these barrels were unique, and stood out above the rest. We could not ignore the opportunity to make a truly delicious wine. Rather than blending these two into the rest of the Pinot Noir from that year, we decided to create a special label, and bottle them on their own. We knew this decision would add additional cost and effort in the cellar, but we were so excited about the quality of this wine, we couldn’t resist. Since this is one of the smallest bottlings we have ever done (less than 50 cases) we planned to share this wine with Club Members only. Smells Like: Ripe cherries, rose petals, currants, baking spices
Tastes Like: Cherries, strawberries, sweet pomegranate, savory white pepper. Soft tannins, and a surprising, earthy finish.
