Gareth was born in Minneapolis, MN and was the first Conway to move to California, where he attended the University of California, San Diego to study science and economics. Before embarking on the family winery project Gareth worked in various industries - from finance, marketing and computers to coffee roasting. Gareth's passion for food, wine and art began before college when he began collecting art and cook books. As an "amateur chef", Gareth particularly enjoys creating new pairings and blends of flavors. Look for him as a guest judge in the upcoming Season 2 of The Winemakers, a PBS production.
Favorite wine: Deep Sea Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Barbara County, 2017 for it's fresh citrus fruit and crisp acidity. This wine and our Deep Sea "The Sea Star" Rosé of Santa Barbara Pinot Noir make for great breakfast wines - the perfect way to begin a Sunday brunch.
