At last, our famed Deep Sea Zinfandel is ready for release, along with our inaugural vintage of Deep Sea Grenache, and a spectacular new Deep Sea Syrah!
This trio of wines showcases a new label design by John Conway, which depicts our deep passion for coastal wines and the wild, beautiful nature of coastal living.
Dry-farmed and barrel-aged, this Grenache was meticulously hand-harvested at night, and hand-sorted before pressing. Dark and rich in appearance, but soft in style, it displays traditional notes of ripe cherry, strawberry, plum, and baking spices. The tannins on the finish are a sweet and lingering promise that this wine will age gracefully. Only 193 cases made.
Grown in the challenging conditions of a dry-farmed vineyard, this wine displays the complexity, balance, and concentrated fruit flavors of a classic California Zinfandel. Barrel aged in both new French and American oak for 16 months, notes of blueberry, chocolate, strawberry and plum blend seamlessly with firm oak tannins for a rich, full-bodied wine experience. Only 242 cases made.
The Syrah vines in the Potrero Vineyard receive only natural rainfall for moisture, and this lack of water means smaller crop yields, fewer clusters per-vine, and berries that are packed with concentrated sugars and acid. The flavors are powerful and intense. Dark, classic Syrah notes of lavender, blackberries and spiced oak and smoke greet you first, followed by coffee and black pepper. The finish is spiced fruit and berries, with a savory black olive note. Limited Production of 180 cases.
